NORMAN (Captain Jack) SPARROW

Norman Sparrow opened Island Watersports Lanzarote as the first dedicated dive shop in Puerto del Carmen in 1997 and followed this up with the opening of a first class diving and powerboating centre in Puerto Calero Marina in 2002.

As a BS-AC Advanced Instructor, PADI Divemaster and RYA Advanced Powerboat Instructor, Norman has a wealth of experience in the scuba-diving and powerboating fields.

Norman's experience in scuba-diving extends from his initial training in 1987 with Bramston Sub-Aqua Club (BS-AC Branch 1159) where he gained immeasurable experience in diving and instructing in U.K. waters.

His boating background extends over a period of some 35 years, in which time he has accumulated a broad band of knowledge relating to practical powerboating and marine products.  Norman holds a MCA/RYA commercial skipper's licence and also the Spanish PER (Patron Embarcaciones Recreo) qualification.  He runs a range of BSAC and RYA powerboating and navigation courses on a regular basis, and his extensive experience has proved of great value to students on all course levels.
