The island of Lanzarote is ideal for families or the individual travelling alone.  There's plenty to do from sight-seeing historical cultural sights, shopping in the city or your local resort, or, the various markets, white sandy beaches which have the European Blue Flag, visit small fishing villages, children's activities such as camel rides, the aqua park, rancho texas, crazy golf and much more.  For the sports minded people there are activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling, powerboating, windsurfing, surfing, swimming, golf, tennis, and also the big athletic holiday resort La Santa where numerous sporting activities are available.  Or you may be lucky and catch our 2 week Carnival which is usually held in February.
